Help & feedback.
A few things to check before getting in touch.
Getting started
- In phone Settings, set Always-On Display to All day. Turn off any other AOD automation.
- Follow NotifyAOD’s three setup steps: display access (with Shizuku, or with a computer via USB), notification access, and screen waking.
- Lock your phone and wait for a notification. When Home asks “Is Always-On Display working?”, tap Yes, it’s working.
Buttons that open phone Settings go straight to the right switch where Android allows it. Otherwise a short message at the bottom of the screen tells you what to tap.
Free and Pro
Free covers one app of your choice, with no time limit. Change it anytime in Apps & notifications. Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks every app. Once you’ve confirmed AOD works, you can try Pro free for 7 days, one time only.
If you reinstall or switch phones, tap Restore purchases in the Pro screen. If the price doesn’t load, check your connection and that the Play Store is signed in, then tap Try again. The Pro screen shows a short reason; include it if you contact support.
If NotifyAOD pauses
Home explains why and what to do. If you changed AOD in phone Settings, choose Resume NotifyAOD to hand control back, or Turn off NotifyAOD to keep your phone’s setting. Allow health alerts (in Settings → Permissions & reliability) to be told when this happens.
While your phone is unlocked, the AOD switch in phone Settings may show Off. That’s normal: NotifyAOD turns it on only when you have new notifications.
Device compatibility
NotifyAOD controls your phone’s built-in AOD setting and works on Android 13 or later. Behavior varies by phone and OS build, and not every device is supported.
Some phones, including OnePlus with OxygenOS 16, update AOD only when the screen wakes. Turn on “Wake screen when a notification is received”; on OxygenOS it’s under Notifications & Quick Settings. If AOD still doesn’t update, open Settings → Screen waking → Can’t find it or still not working? and choose Shizuku waking or the experimental wake lock.
OxygenOS / ColorOS permission help
Some builds need Disable system optimization turned on in Developer options before granting display access. Turn it off again afterwards. To show Developer options, go to About device → Version and tap Build number seven times.
Before uninstalling
Use Settings → Help & about → Disable and restore and wait until your original display setting is restored.
