NotifyAOD privacy policy
Last updated September 24, 2026. Applies to NotifyAOD for Android (com.notifyaod.app) and this website.
What the app accesses and why
- Notifications. With notification access, Android shares notification details with NotifyAOD, such as which app posted it, its title and text, and when it arrived. NotifyAOD uses them on your phone only to decide when to turn your always-on display (AOD) on or off. Notification content is never saved or shared, and it is discarded when the app closes.
- Your display setting. A one-time permission, granted through Shizuku or a computer, lets NotifyAOD switch your phone’s built-in AOD on and off. It remembers your original setting so it can restore it.
- Installed apps. NotifyAOD lists the apps on your phone so you can choose which ones count. Only your choices are saved.
- Other permissions. NotifyAOD posts its own silent alerts if it pauses or loses access. It can also keep the screen awake briefly for optional screen waking, and it uses network access only for Google Play purchases.
Purchases
Google Play handles payment for NotifyAOD Pro, so NotifyAOD never sees your payment details. To confirm Pro, the app keeps the signed purchase record that Google Play returns. It also keeps the start and end dates of the free preview. Both stay on your phone. Google’s handling of purchases is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
What stays on your phone
NotifyAOD saves your settings and app choices, your original AOD setting, your purchase and preview status, any device test results you record, and a short note about the last time the app paused, used for troubleshooting. None of this includes notification content. It is kept in the app’s private storage, excluded from backups, and removed when you clear the app’s data or uninstall it.
What we collect and share
Nothing. The developer does not receive data from the app, and nothing is sold or shared with third parties. The only outside service the app uses is Google Play Billing. If you tap Copy diagnostics, the app puts a report about your device model, Android version and app status on your clipboard. The report contains no notification content, and it is shared only if you paste it somewhere yourself.
Your choices
You can turn NotifyAOD off in the app, or revoke its notification or Shizuku access in Android Settings at any time. Before uninstalling, use Settings → Help & about → Disable and restore so your original display setting comes back. The developer holds none of your data, so there is nothing to delete on our side. Children
NotifyAOD is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Security
Data stays in Android’s private storage for the app. Purchases are checked against Google Play’s signature before Pro is unlocked.
